2024 AGM
This year we held our AGM at the start of the last round of our summer series (29th September 2024) to have as many members present as possible. We had multiple topics to discuss, and we were keen to for member’s feedback.
Future of the club
With large changes and improvements taken place over winter 2023/2024 we were very excited for the year ahead. Throughout the maintenance period we saw a lot of new members come down to the track intrigued with what we were doing and the possibilities of what the track will become. We were very grateful to the old and the new members for the support throughout this period because as many of you may know we were struggling complete the work in the amount of time we had. We would also like to thank the new members who may have raced once or not at all for getting stuck in with the tasks on hand. Throughout the year we have listened to our members and visitors feedback and taken onboard to enable us to create the new layout for the 2025 season.
At the meeting we presented the plan for the new layout to discuss the new features and to explain the tracks progression so that members had an input to the track they would all be racing on. After the image was handed around and the members questions were answered, people were excited for the new design.
As the maintenance continues for the 1/8th track we have also started to build our new permanent 1/10th track which is coming together nicely it will be located in the far corner of the car park with the hope to bring the 1/10th community back to NDOR! The track progress is being managed by Nick Tullett (track manager) and with his passion and drive for the project we are hoping to see the track being open for business in March/ April 2025, keep your eye out of the Facebook page for more updates. We are hoping to host an event per month like the 1/8th events with the hope of regional and national events to come in the future.
In August 2024 we hosted a 1/5th and 1/8th fun weekend to test how the track would hold up and to invite new/ previous 1/5th drivers to have a taste of NDOR. The event ran very smoothly, and this allowed us to gain lots of feedback and have an insight on how we would run events in the future. We are hoping to run a winter series (track maintenance depending) or a couple of fun days throughout winter to invite the drivers to experience the new NDOR layout. Depending on how this goes we then hope to host a national round and warm out rounds throughout the year. The 1/5th will be kept to race events only, 1/10th and 1/8th will continue to have practice days throughout the year.
Following the building and updates to the tracks we will be placing a safety net between the 1/10th track and the football field to stop any danger happening between the two.
Membership
All membership is to remain at the same price with the possibilities of lowering it in the future depending on the number of members in the coming years. Your NDOR membership will cover both tracks and all three classes we hope to offer.

Open discussion
An option for family membership instead of individual memberships- to be discussed in the future
In 2025 we have looking at doing a “always running” policy to prevent cancelling various rounds. If the event has less numbers than we need for a race we will look at turning the event into a fun day or another racing format so that drivers will always have the opportunities to do some form of racing and create a way that points from those events can count for the championship this will be discussed in the future.
Next year we will be returning to mixed classes for 1/8th race days and for the championship. This year we tried to run single classes for nitro, ebuggy and truggy however due to numbers this was only possible a couple of times throughout the year.
Throughout the year we have struggled with drivers not racing their finals which then causes issues with marshal points for other finals, as a committee we have decided that if you don’t race your final no points will be awarded. We understand that sometimes this is due to breakage from previous races can happen, therefore if you marshal the final you have been given points can still be awarded where necessary.
As NDOR develops in the future we are hoping to host some of the bigger events throughout the year and will look at any developments to the track that may be needed.
As many of you know we are a volunteering organisation, things like maintenance are necessary to keep the club going, so we ask that our members come and try to help with any track changes to help the club develop further. The more members we have helping means the more progress we can make in a shorter amount of time allowing more racing to happen, the less we have coming to help causes delays and less practicing. There are always a range of jobs that can be undertaken throughout the days, so if you are concerned you will struggle with the larger tasks there is always easier and smaller jobs to be done.
We as a committee old and new would like to thank you all for the love and support you have shown the club throughout the year and we look forward to seeing what the new season has to offer!
Best regards,
NDOR committee 2024/2025
